ZIIA FAQ
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about ZIIA.
Q) How can I get started ?
R) Simply do the 20 minutes tutorial available on this site.
Q) I don't seem to be able to display the ZIIA web site, and I see a little square on a light blue screen. What's wrong ?
R) To use ZIIA you must use Internet Explore 6 or 7.
If you're using an old Windows (anterior to Windows XP with Service Pack 2) you might need to install the "Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package" (from Microsoft website, HERE at time of writing).
If it still doesn't work please email us.
Q) How much does ZIIA cost ?
R) Nothing, it is free, unlimited and non intrusive (all is needed to create account is a company name pseudo).
Q) What are the guarantees ?
R) See the Usage agreement on this site for details.
Q) Why isn't ZIIA Open Source ?
R) It isn't Open Source presently but we don't exclude making it or portions of it Open Source in the future. The bottom line is that we will do so if this is pertinent for our partners and users.
For now, Open Source definitely isn't a central concern for our partners who for many hardly even know what source code is and definitely aren't interested in becoming IT professionals. They just want systems that work and that support their activities.
The Open Source model is interesting for and promoted by IT companies (often defined as "integrators") who use their knowledge of the source code to sell IT services around the product (bug fixes, installations, configurations, packaging, optimisations, developments, customisations, trainings, …). That is how "integrators" make money from Open Source software and that is how the Open Source model works.
ZIIA doesn't require such services because it is designed to be fully usable and valuable as is. If people have problems with ZIIA (and don't manage to use it) we consider it is a "bug" and they just tell us and we will fix it within our free ZIIA strategy.
Q) Does it support multiple users, multiple sites ?
R) Of course, in the tutorial for example three profiles with different accesses are created. It is an internet system, so it can be accessed from many sites without any extra effort.
